Jared Zabransky

Jared Zabransky was born on the 4th of December, 1983 in the city of Hermiston, Oregon. He is a professional Canadian and American football quarterback playing for Canadian Football League called Edmonton Eskimos. In 2007, he was signed as an undrafted player and a free agent by Houston Texans. He also played on the college football team at Boise State where he was best known for outstanding performances during the Fiesta Bowl in 2007 and was given the title for the Most Valuable Player. Earlier years

While he was living in Hermiston, he was a member of a farming family. From his younger years he was a highly skilled athlete playing in three sports, namely basketball, baseball and football, while he was attending Hermiston High School. During 2002 which was his senior year, Zabransky received the award for Male Athlete of the year in Eastern Oregon. Besides appearing on the honor roll, Jared also demonstrated his abilities on the football field as the team captain with passes over 1,600 yards and also 15 touchdowns.

Jared Zabransky career in college

During his very first season in 2002 he was redshirted at Boise State. In the following year, he finished with 11 out of 23 passes over 180 yards in addition to one touchdown to back up Ryan Dinwiddie.

In 2004, he went on to play the starting quarterback for Broncos. This had been the same season when he guided Boise State to a record of 11-1, in which they lost once to Louisville. Following this performance, he was titled honorary mention All-America in Sports Illustrated; the second team for All-WAC, plus was elected as the Most Valuable Player for the team.

For 2005 season, he continued to be in control of Broncos highly powered offense team. Even though he started all thirteen games, his performance was a bit off. His statistics showed passes over 2,562 yards; 18 touchdowns; 16 interceptions and had been benched at times in favor of Taylor Tharp, who was a back-up quarterback. The game which opened the season for Boise State vs Georgia Bulldogs had been a catastrophe for Jared, but he was able to throw 4 interceptions during the first half and also committed a fumble.

In spite of his sub-par performance during this season, he managed to boost Boise State chances for them to reach the MPC Computers Bowl where they played against Boston College at their home base at Bronco Stadium, Boise in Idaho. After slipping behind during the first half of the game with a score of 24-, Boise State fight back and reduce Boston College lead to a score of 27-21 in the later part of the 4th quarter. However, any hope of regaining the lead was crushed when Jared threw an interception inside Boston College’s end zone with only 37 seconds left in the game.

Jared Zabransky earns more awards such as being recognized as the 11th best quarterback across the country by “The Sporting News” and also appeared on the watch list for Maxwell Award in 2006. The 2006 season started with Zabransky resuming his career as a senior starting quarterback. This season turned out to be a booming success for Boise State and Jared and he guided his team to win a perfect record with 12- in a regular season, capturing BSU’s 5th uninterrupted WAC championship. According to statistics, this had also been Jared’s most successful season as he finished with just 7 interceptions and 23 touchdown passes.
